CASTILLO
Working collaboratively between the Loloi Rugs and the Rifle Paper Co. design teams, I prepared and organized print files for wall art, pillow, and rug production. This included adjusting each layout to create a cohesive set of sizes, developing new colorways according to interior trends, and constructing and applying textures to balance the print with the rug construction.
Working from purchased artwork and original illustrations, I developed surface patterns for printed rugs, displayed at the Loloi showroom, during New York Home Fashion Week. Throughout the development of each pattern, I carefully consider how the base will affect the printing quality in regard to color, saturation, and clarity. In addition to constructing the CADs, I work directly with the factories to communicate design notes and ensure the highest print quality.
Designing seasonal and novelty accent rugs for retailers such as World Market, Homegoods, and At Home, I illustrated original artwork within the constraints of tufted, screen-printed, and digitally printed qualities.
