I often reflect on how my life is directly tied to sacrifice and acts of service, which is only made more significant through my upbringing in the Catholic Church and Filipino culture. My work is a pursuit to identify the parts of me and my surroundings that are truly sacred, beyond what I have been expected to worship. This garment explores what reverence looks like to me, and how I’ve been taught to carry myself through the unending void we are all born into. It is a rememberance of the collection of sacrifices that have led me to this point in life. Each piece is manually knit on a domestic single- bed knitting machine and hand-dyed.
